Norwich needed to invest at least a bit more to add some Premier league experience
Byram at £750k was their biggest buy I think
Some promising young players but too naive and too soft.
Will go down with money in the bank and sell a couple of players for decent money.
As seen with the shit in the bottom 6 it wouldn’t have taken too much to stay up.

We’re basically safe Villa or Bournemouth need to win 3 out of the last 4 games or 2 wins and 2 draws and us not get another win

Cheers Darby.

Agree about Norwich as well. I admire that they try to play in the right way and didn’t abandon their principles at all throughout the season, but they simply don’t have the quality to play that way in the top division.

Same about Villa really, Grealish aside.

But where is Nurse Ratch?
Not seen her in over a month.
Was she banned?
Is she ok?

She always predicted it.

Having watched it, it was a bit of a weird game. We looked up for it, but they didn't ever put us under much pressure.

Quick question. How did a 4-0 come to be known as a Rached? Obviously I’m aware of Nurse but I don’t know the link. Does she always predict it?

Why is everyone so sure that win has made us safe? With Watford winning today, there is a chance that Bournemouth could beat Leicester tomorrow and it's more or less the same as it was, with us celebrating a superior (but negative) goal difference.

This. It is highly feasible that Bournemouth could beat Leicester tomorrow and/or Villa beat Palace. If they both win then we have gained nothing.

It's all very well whipping the whipping boys, but the proof will be in the pudding against Watford next week.

Can you imagine the press uproar if a Liverpool, Man Utd or some of the other media darlings player had scored 4 in a match, it would be the second coming. We get it's only against Norwich, cunts

Easy win.

We’re staying up at a canter.

I thought it was telling how the subs that came on are all our most expensive / high earners (Haller, Wilshire, Yarma) and none of them would be a serious starter for us right now regardless of fitness. Add to that Anderson and Lanzini and we are in a very strange world.

How can the 5 top earners and generally most valuable players on paper be playing second fiddle to 2 championship signings and a few other "normal" players?

Basically our recruitment has been abysmal really. Thats why we struggle so much. I have to say that even if Moyes is a "questionable" appointment, I'd have him as a director of football in terms of signings. Bowen and Soucek have been the best business the clubs has done in years. He seems to know whether a player will be good (even Hugill is banging them in in the Championship so maybe he wasnt that wrong?)

Deano
Every striker misses chances and now he's a legend.
I'm happy we won and are virtually safe but like you want Moyes gone.He has one good game in 5 and is tactically inept. 3-0 up and doesn't take our best player off when he has a history of hamstring injuries. First sub 77 minutes ridiculous.
Anyway i can relax and toast Antonio

Given Norwich were pretty shocking, there were still some quiet performances out there. Glad Antonio got a bit of a rest in the end. He's become this seasons relegation escape hero. Still allowing too many easy crosses into the box. Been evident every game. Dont know why its not being addressed. Any team with a bit of quality will punish it.

David Cross scored 4 at Grimsby in April 1981
Then went 6 games without scoring before scoring 4 at Spurs

In 1981 from March to November he didn’t score a home goal but scored 13 goals away from home including those two lots of 4.

first West Ham player to score four goals in a league match since David Cross against Tottenham in September 1981

Great win.
We were good but Norwich much worse than I had expected.

Should be pretty much safe tomorrow if villa and bournemouth lose again.

On a minor point Is Alan Irvine still one of our coaches? Haven’t seen him so much.

I can just see us losing to Watford and then Man U. Setting a last day fight with Villa.

Need that point on Friday to relax.

Moyes is gutted because he set up for the draw and went and accidentally won. He's furious.
